Pakistan appreciate recognition of International community

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that terrorism could only be defeated with unity and cooperation of the international community.

On Friday responding to a media question regarding the forthcoming NATO Summit in Warsaw, Adviser to the Prime Minister said that this Summit is taking place under the long shadows of terrorism, turmoil and continuing conflicts. Within the last week alone, we have seen major terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Terrorism could only be defeated with unity and cooperation of the international community.

The adviser said operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan and concerted operations in other parts of the country against terrorists have been very successful and as a result, dividends have started reaching the people of Pakistan.

He said Pakistan appreciates acknowledgement of our contributions by the international community.

“We expect that as we intensify our efforts to facilitate the peace process in Afghanistan, they will also capitalize on the dividends of these counter-terrorism operations to facilitate this process,” he concluded.
