Govt, opposition agree to appoint ECP members by July 25
ISLAMABAD: Government and the opposition agreed on Monday to finalize the appointment process of the Members of Election Commission of Pakistan by 25th of this month.
The understanding came at a meeting between Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Khursheed Shah in Islamabad.
During the meeting the names of the Election Commission members came under consultation. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the government is keenly pursuing the objective of economic growth and offered a number of incentives to different sectors to boost economy.
In a statement, he directed officials of the Ministry of Finance to actively pursue implementation of new budgetary measures within the given timeline.
Meanwhile in the directions of Finance Minister, FBR will soon hold meetings with stakeholders regarding the modalities for determination of fair market value of immovable property.
