Rangers' powers extension: Nisar writes letter to CM Sindh

KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan wrote a letter to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Tuesday and expressed his concern over the delay in extending Rangers' powers in the province.

According to details, Chaudhry Nisar wrote a letter to CM Sindh in which he stated that delay in providing powers to Rangers will affect the operation in the province.

He expressed concern at the delay in extending the stay of Rangers in the province and granting them powers. Chaudhry Nisar stated that it was up to the Chief Minister to use his power with regard to the matter of Rangers' powers in Sindh.

Nisar stated that the delay could also have a negative impact on the performance of the civil armed forces. Chaudhry Nisar also said that Rangers had played an integral part in maintaining peace.

He pointed out that it was the joint responsibility of the federal and provincial governments to remove all hurdles.
