Ulema, Mashaikh declare extra judicial murder, honour killings un-Islamic

Conspiracies were being hatched to weaken Ummah, Muslim leadership needs to seek guidance from Quran-o-Sunnah.

ISLAMABAD: Ulema and Mashaikh from various schools of thought said on Wednesday that Islam does not allow any sort of extra judicial murder and killing on account of religion, honor and prejudice.

Addressing "Ulema Mashaikh Convention" they said that the Ulema and the religious leadership in Pakistan should wage united efforts to eliminate extremist thinking and radical mindset which was problematic for the entire world and Pakistan. The Ulema and Mashaikh Convention was organised by the Pakistan Ulema Council.

The speakers stated that the extremist organisations like the Islamic State group were being formed and strengthened to defame the Muslims and Islam across the world adding that religious sections of society in Turkey had played frontline role in defeating revolt against the democratic government.

Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi while addressing the convention urged the Ulema and the Mashaikh to come forward to educate youths of the country against the extremist ideologies.

He said that India was among those major countries providing arms and ammunition to the Islamic State group and the warlords of the group were attacking at all those countries which were anti-Bashar-ul-Asad and supporting the people of Syria.

He also said that the Muslim Ummah should get united against all those aiming at playing havoc with the peace and security of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The chairman also appreciated the unanimous stance of the Islamic world on the prevailing Turkish issue. He added that the Indian forces cannot sustain anymore oppression against the people of Kashmir and the day is not far when the people of Kashmir will get freedom from India.

Pakistan Ulema Council Islamabad President Maulana Abdul Hameed Sabri said that "Takfeeri and Kharji" groups were responsible for attacking at Madina and all these elements were traitors of Muslims and Islam. The entire Muslim world has acknowledged bravery of the security personnel who foiled the attacks at Masjid-e-Nabvi.

He said that contrary to all sorts of prejudices and sectarian affiliations, the Pakistan Ulema Coucil was making efforts for the cause of "Toheed-o-Sunnah". Pakistan Ulema Council Punjab Vice President Maulana Nauman Hashir said that the PUC was making efforts for the rights of non-Muslims in Pakistan.

He added that the constitution of Pakistan had categorically defined rights for the non-Muslims living in Pakistan and every section of the society should function as per their constitutional parameters. Speaking on the occasion Pakistan Ulema Council General Secretary Maulana Tahir Aqeel Awan said that the people of Pakistan would not hesitate to lay any sort of sacrifice for the defence and security of the Haramain Al-Sharifain and Turkey.

He also warned the United States, India and other foreign forces to shun the conspiracies against Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan. Meanwhile Sheikh-ul-Hadish Maulana Ahmed addressing the conventions said that conspiracies were being hatched against the Muslim world with sole objective to weaken the Ummah. Amidst this scenario, the Muslim leadership needed to pursue way of their ancestors and seek guidance from the Quran-o-Sunnah.

He said, "Quran terms killing of an individual as killing of the entire humankind and elements playing havoc with blood of innocent people could neither be Muslims nor representatives of Muslims. Later, talking to media, Ashrafi regretted the honor killing of the social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch and demanded merit based investigations of the killing. The convention also approved a resolution condemning the killing of Mufti Habib-ur-Rehman and demanded of Sindh Government to arrest his killers.
