Chinese delegation calls on NA’s acting speaker
By: NNIISLAMABAD: National Assembly Acting Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi said on Friday that Pakistan values high its relations with China and desired to further solidify its deep rooted strategic partnership of cooperation for mutual benefit of both the countries.
He said that Pakistan appreciates the strong support and selfless assistance from the Chinese government and people for its economic and social development. He expressed these views while talking to a high level Chinese Delegation from Xinjian Province headed by Young Yan Min at the Parliament House.
Appreciating the commitment of the Chinese leadership for implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Project, he said that this project would prove a game changer and it would create massive economic activities in the region resulting in progress and prosperity for the people of both the countries.
He said that pragmatic cooperation between both the countries could bring more tangible benefits to Pakistan and China. He thanked the Chinese government for organising capacity building programme for the members of the Pakistan’s parliament and the assistance to set up Solar Power Project at the Parliament House.
He said that the Solar Power Project gifted by the Chinese government for the parliament of Pakistan was a symbol of friendship between the two countries. He also appreciated the plan for promoting cooperation and partnership between Xinjian Province and Gilgit-Baltistan in various fields, installation of solar lamps in Hazara Division and timely assistance to overcome the energy shortage in Pakistan.
Head of Chinese Delegation Young Yan Min thanked the acting speaker and said that the CPEC project is the win-win opportunity for the both the countries. He assured of the Chinese commitment for the project’s early completion.
While apprising the acting speaker regarding the engagements of his delegation, he said that the delegation was visiting the Northern Areas of Pakistan to observe various under-progress projects of CEPC in Gilgit-Baltistan.
