If Musharraf’s statement could be recorded at home why can’t it be for Qatari prince: Marriyum

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said if the statement of former president Pervez Musharraf could be recorded at his home then why couldn’t the JIT does it in case of Qatari prince Hamad bin Jassim?

She said the JIT should have first of all recorded the statement of Hamad bin Jassim which was very crucial regarding Panama investigations.

In a statement issued on Friday, she questioned as to why it was not done? The minister observed that if the JIT really intended to record his statement it could have done so by going anywhere in the world but if there were any sinister motives behind it, they would resort to intimidation and threats as well as make excuses but would not go to Qatar, because after his statement the case against the Sharif family would come to an end.

Meanwhile in an interview, Marriyum Aurangzeb said Imran Khan is trying to come in power while using every method. She said some elements are hatching a conspiracy to stop the process of development and progress of the country. She said Imran demands accountability of everyone but has personally failed to defend the foreign funding case in the ECP.

She said the statements of Asif Ali Zardari are expression of his disappointment. She said with the completion of the constitutional tenure of the elected government, the democratic system will be further strengthened.

According to another report, Railways Minister Kh Saad Rafique said the PML-N has always respected courts and will do so in future as well. Talking to media in Islamabad Friday, he said prime minister himself proposed to form a judicial commission for probing the allegations levelled in the Panama Papers.

He said all the three petitions filed in the Supreme Court by the political opponents of the PML-N have always been defeated in the election arena. He said Pakistan is not a banana republic and no one is above the law. JIT has no powers to eavesdropping on the Prime Minister House, he added. He said JIT ill-treated Tariq Shafi and Ahmed Noorani during the probe. He said we have been consistently facing a trial-like situation since the PML-N assumed power. He said Imran Khan is a loser and will remain so in future.
