New phases of PM Youth Laptop Scheme begin today

ISLAMABAD: The fourth and fifth phases of the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme will begin today (Monday) promising distribution of 200,000 laptops to higher education students from the public sector in the country.

Students enrolled in PhD, MS, MPhil, master’s and undergraduate courses are eligible to apply.Special quota is reserved for students pursuing two-year or three-year Diploma of Associate Engineering programmes at government colleges and the students of intermediate, graduate and post-graduate programmes at public sector colleges or universities of Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Islamabad Capital Territory. The students with disability are also placed in the reserved quota to benefit from the scheme.

Students can register their profiles by 30th of September at pmnls.hec.gov.pk.The Prime Minister’ Youth Laptop is one of the schemes of Prime Minister’s Youth Programme launched in 2013 for five years.

Under the scheme designed for talented students to enhance the quality of education and to ease access to information technology in the country, scores of students have so far got laptops.
