France wants strong and stable Pakistan: envoy

ISLAMABAD: France believes in a resilient, strong and stable Pakistan as its ambassador in Pakistan Ms Martine Dorance has reiterated that the reinforcement of a sustainable partnership between the two countries and most importantly between the two peoples is essential.

Addressing Friday evening National Day reception of her country at a local hotel here, she said that at the international level, France is willing to shoulder all its responsibilities in order to provide appropriate responses to the major challenges of our time, starting with the protection of our planet and ensuring freedom, social justice and democracy globally.

Federal Minister Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan was the chief guest who also spoke of Pakistan-France friendship and hoped that the two countries would enhance their mutual cooperation in various spheres. Former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Secretary to Prime Minister (SPM) Fawad Hasan Fawad, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Senator Enver Baig and former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Ehsan were among the conspicuous guests.
