RAW operating from Afghanistan to harm CPEC: General Zubair

KARACHI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat said on Saturday that Pakistan is conscious about Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing’s (RAW) attempts to incapacitate China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

While addressing Naval Cadet’s passing out parade, the chairman said the country is facing adversity in form of a sub-conventional warfare.

“Pakistan is confronting adversaries who are involved in indirect sub-conventional warfare against us. Pakistan is also fully aware of those threats from hostile intelligence agencies especially India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW),” he said.

The chairman further added that RAW is operating from within Afghanistan to inflict damage upon and destabilize the country.

“These hostile intelligence agencies are operating from Afghanistan and other locations to create unrest in Pakistan in general and Balochistan in particular.” He added.

The CJCSC also stated that being loyal towards Pakistan should be a priority of any person living within the bounds of the country, and also lauded Pakistan NAVY for playing a vital role in defending the country.

He ensured that despite efforts of Pakistan’s enemies, the country’s forces are capable enough to undertake any challenge and eliminate any threat, external or internal.

“To deal with these challenges and threats, we are committed to undertake synergetic national efforts at the national level. Armed forces have a pivotal role to play in this regard. Make no mistake. We will beat back the enemy’s design,” said the chairman.
