Imran rebuts reports of ‘failed’ money trail

ISLAMABAD: Dismissing media reports, PTI Chief Imran Khan clarified Sunday he had submitted whole money trail of the money he brought to Pakistan.

Speaking to media here, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman dismissed the impression being created in the media that his ‘failure’ to submit a money trail for his London apartment is similar to the Sharif family’s case in the Supreme Court.

Imran Khan said, “I have presented all the banking transactions in Supreme Court.” “I want to present myself to public as I am a public figure and people give me donations for my charity projects,” he added.

Khan said some media houses are misleading public that there is no money trail, adding that all these people who are supporting Nawas Sharif are all culprits, law calls them accomplices.

Khan said “It seems after looking at today’s papers that I haven’t given my money trail either”.

“Money laundering and tax evasion is the biggest crime. Sharif family presented fake documents before the court,” PTI chairman said.

Imran questioned he earned money abroad and brought it back to Pakistan so where's money laundering?

There were reports, Imran Khan failed to furnish before the Supreme Court the money trail pertaining to his salaries record beyond 20 years while he was playing for English counties.

He displayed the documents he had submitted to the court, claiming they prove how he earned his money as a cricketer and brought it back to Pakistan.

PTI Chief said his former wife, Jemima, had provided him details of bank transactions which he submitted in the court, showing how the funds from the London flat came into Pakistan.

Lambasting over Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Imran said Kh. Asif should be ashamed of attacking Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH).

Khan challenged Khawaja Asif to point out any mistakes in SKMCH and take those objections to court.

Khawaja Asif on Saturday alleged that PTI leader had not declared a major donation from “Indian and Jewish sources, facilitated by Zulfi Bukhari” but Imran Khan had actually thanked “Zulfi Bokhari and his friends” for donating to him £150,000 but it’s not clear whether he declared this donation to authorities in Pakistan or not.

Later, in a tweet today, Imran Khan said it shameful to make fabricated comparisons between Nawaz Sharif, who is guilty of money laundering, tax evasion and assets concealment, and him (Imran)
