Will try to bring stolen wealth back to the country: Chairman NAB

ISLAMABAD: Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said that his organization was trying to bring stolen wealth back to Pakistan.

"I want to make it absolutely clear that we are not harassing anyone," he said. "We are just doing our jobs in accordance with the law."

He said that everyone must perform their respective duties and tasks to the utmost honesty.

"Love your country and you will see that corruption will be diminished," he said. "Even small drops of corruption become a burden for the national treasury," he added.

He also said that whether it be Dr Asim's case or the DHA investigation, NAB remained under pressure.

PPP has been the most vocal critic of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and has accused the bureau of purusing cases against its leadership only due to political victimization.

Last month, NAB arrested Balochistan Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani, after Rs 730 million were recovered from his house. NAB has also been actively investigating Dr Asim on charges of money laundering.

Yesterday, Qamar Zaman Chaudhry had visited Karachi and held an important meeting at NAB-Karachi. Sources had disclosed that in the meeting, the NAB chairman had decided to extend the scope of corruption cases in Sindh.
