Most South Asian Muslims to observe first fast on Tuesday

SYDNEY/TOKYO/SOUTH ASIA: Most Muslims from South Asian states will most probably start the month of Ramazan with their first fast from Tuesday.

However, the case is not be the same for other countries such as Japan and Australia. According to details, in Japan, the Ramazan moon was sighted on Sunday night and Muslims in Tokyo and other parts of the country offered Tarawih prayers.

Similarly, all Arabs residing in Australia will observe their first fast for the month of Ramazan on Monday.

Muslims observe fasts the entire month during Ramazan by consuming Sehri at just before dawn and consuming Iftar at the time of Maghrib. During the month, Muslims perform charitable acts and also strive to become more religious and come closer to the Almighty.

During the fats, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking or indulging in prohibited acts.
