Rs 100 should be paid as Sadqa-e-Fitr: Mufti Muneeb

ISLAMABAD: Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman has announced rates of Sadqa e Fitr with respect to prices of wheat barley, dates and raisins.

While talking to a private news channel he said that the minimum amount that should be given in charity is Rs 100 with respect to wheat, Rs 320 in accordance with Barley and Rs 1 600 with respect to price of dates and Raisins. A breadwinner of a family is needed to pay at least Rs 100 on behalf of each of his dependants if he wishes to pay according to wheat price.

It should be noted here that Sadqa-e-Fitr fixed last year and year before that with respect to wheat was Rs 100 also. Fidya amount needed to be paid for 30 days with respect to wheat price is Rs 3,000, with respect to barley price is Rs 9,600, with respect to dates price is Rs 48,000 and with respect to price of raisins Rs 48,000 should be paid for 30 days. The chairman has advised the followers to pay the charity as obligated by Islam before offering Eid prayer so that the needy people could make timely use of that money.
