Sadiq Khan disappointed by childhood hero Imran’s support to Zac
LONDON: Newly elected Mayor of London Sadiq Khan says he was disappointed to see Imran Khan backing Zac Goldsmith in election campaign.
Speaking to Geo News in his first interview to a Pakistani television channel, Sadiq Khan said: “Imran Khan was my hero when I was young, he was the best all rounder. I was so disappointed to see him supporting Zac Goldsmith who asked people to not to vote for me due to my Pakistani origin and Muslim faith”.
“I told people, yes I am of Pakistani origin… yes I am a Muslim, but I do have policies and ideas for being the mayor of best city in the world,” he said.
He said Imran Khan would have to explain why he backed Goldsmith.
