Sharif family will continue helping course of justice: Nawaz

PM, family leave for Umra today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Sharif family would continue to help the course of justice, and the people of Pakistan would jealously guard the upholding of its norms as no one shall be allowed to make the mockery of justice.

According to sources, the prime minister said this while talking to his younger brother, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, on Saturday afternoon at the Prime Minister's House. The latter appeared before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) appointed by the Supreme Court bench for probe in so-called PanamaLeakes earlier in the day. The two also discussed what has been transpired in the JIT during their separate appearance before it.

They also reviewed the way the team is behaving with the Sharif family. It has been speculated that the family would continue to cooperate with the JIT despite its serious reservations. They were of the opinion that the working of the team is tantamount to obstruction to justice.

The two leaders discussed the overall situation prevailing in the country and related subjects since Prime Minister Nawaz and his family are leaving for Saudi Arabia today (Sunday) by ordinary flight of the PIA to perform Umrah and offering prayers at the Masjid-e-Nabvi (Peace be upon Him) under private arrangement.

The family will leave for London next Sunday (on Eidul Fitar--June 25) after offering Eid prayers in Madina Munawwarah. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will visit his cardiac specialist for his routine check-up. He underwent cardiac surgery in London in May last year and since then he has been advised for regular check-up, but he failed for it last month on an appointed date by the hospitals due to his engagements at home.

Daughter of the Prime Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her spouse President Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N-Youth) Capt Muhammad Safdar, MNA, will also accompany the prime minister along with their children for the sojourn first to Saudi Arabia and then to London, the sources said.
