JIT members being threatened: Khursheed

SHIKARPUR: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has said that the members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), probing the Panama Leaks case, were being threatened to get desired results.

Khursheed Shah urged all the parties to cooperate with the JIT so that a free and fair probe into the Panama Leaks case was ensured. He said that the JIT must be free to work independently, adding that the tactics to pressurise the JIT would harm the interests of the people and the country as well. -- Online

Our correspondent adds: Talking to the media here on Saturday, Khursheed Shah said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was totally confused when he came out after recording his statement with the JIT. He said that the Sharif brothers had nothing to say in their defence in the Panama Leaks case, so they were levelling baseless allegations against the JIT.

Answering a question about Imran Khan, Shah went on to say that Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif were both equally corrupt and both were facing cases of money trail. He said that if Nawaz Sharif would go to jail then Imran Khan would also meet the same fate.

On Qatar-Saudi Arabia feud, the PPP leader said that the foreign policy of Nawaz Sharif has completely failed, adding that Pakistan’s foreign policy for Saudi Arabia and Qatar was not clear yet.

In his concluding remarks, Shah said that the state institutions were going through a tough time. He said that the Pakistan People’s Party was with parliament in order to rescue institutions.
