Col Amjad Hussain Sayed passes away

Funeral today; Punjab CM condoles death

LAHORE: Nazmaz-e-Janaza of Colonel (R) Amjad Hussain Sayed, father of Senator Mushahid Hussain, will be offered at their residence: 111-C, New Muslim Town, Lahore, at 2pm on Wednesday, followed by burial at the Sayed Family Graveyard in Baba Shah Jemal.

He was a senior officer of the Pakistan Army, commissioned in January 1942, as well as a gold medalist of the Pakistan Movement, since he personally participated in the October 1937 session of the All India Muslim League in Lucknow and the March 1940 Lahore session of the All India Muslim League.

CM condoles: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep grief over the sad demise of veteran leader of Pakistan Movement Col (R) Amjad Hussain Sayed.

The chief minister has said the late Amjad Hussain Sayed was one of the founding leaders of Muslim Students Federation who actively took part in the struggle for the creation of an independent Muslim State
He said the services of the late Amjad Hussain for the establishment of Pakistan as well as promotion of ideology of the country would be remembered.

In his condolence message, the chief minister has expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity.
