Funeral prayers of Abbas Town victims offered, toll rises to 48



KARACHI: Funeral prayers have been offered for sixteen victims of yesterday’s bombing in Abbas Town area of the city.

The funereal prayers of eight victims were attended by a large number of people and were led by Sheikh Salahuddin at Shahra-e-Pakistan. Earlier funeral prayers for six victims had been offered at Ancholi Imambargah, while the funeral prayers for another four victims were held at Numaish. The deceased were laid to rest at the Wadi-e-Hussain graveyard.

At least 48 people including women and children were killed and over 140 others sustained injuries after a powerful blast ripped through a densely populated area near Abbas Town, Sunday evening.

According to sources, the remote controlled car bomb was planted at the entrance of Abbas Town, under a PMT to further augment the destruction.
