Indian foreign secretary arrives on two-day visit

ISLAMABAD – Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyan Jaishankar arrived here on Tuesday on two-day visit to Islamabad to hold talks on regional and bilateral issues. He was received at the airport by senior officials from Pakistan's Foreign Office, Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan and other officials. The Indian foreign secretary will hold talks with Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry and Pakistan expects that all matters including Indian-held Jammu Kashmir dispute, Siachin, water issues, confidence building measures, people to people contacts, trade and recent violations by India across the Line of Control and the Working Boundary will be discussed during the talks being held at Foreign Office today. Besides holding formal talks with Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Jaishankar is also expected to meet with Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi. He is also likely to call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
