Friendship with China cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy: president
APPISLAMABAD – President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said that friendship with China was the cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy as the countries were iron brothers.
The president was talking to a delegation of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) led by Chairman Board of CTG, Lu Chun, here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. He said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a project that would transform the entire region. It was imperative that work on the infrastructure and energy projects envisioned under the CPEC begins at the earliest, he said.
He said that the people of Pakistan were eagerly looking forward to the visit of president of China. The visit, he said, would be a hallmark of the “Year of Friendly Exchanges” between the two countries. He encouraged CTG to take advantage of investment friendly policies of Pakistan by investing in hydro, wind and solar projects and assured of government's support in this regard. During the course of meeting, the delegation also apprised about CTG's future investment plans in Pakistan.
