Court reserves verdict over plea in defamation case against Imran

ISLAMABAD: A District and Session Court on Saturday reserved its ruling over a plea filed against Babar Awan’s appearance as counsel for Imran Khan in a defamation case.

The former cricket hero and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman is facing a libel suit worth Rs20 billion filed by former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry whom the PTI chief accused of poll rigging.

District and Session Judge Tanvir Ahmed conducted hearing into the plea filed by Sheikh Al Hassanudin Advocate, lawyer for the former top judge. The hearing was adjourned after the judge reserved his verdict.
