MoU signed for teaching Chinese language in Sindh's schools

KARACHI – Sindh Education Department on Tuesday signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chinese education department of Sichaun province for teaching Chinese language in schools of Sindh.

The MoU was signed by Sindh Secretary Education Fazalullah Pechucho and China Education Department vice Director General Liu Dong. The MoU signing ceremony held at Sindh Assembly building was attended by Sindh Senior Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Consul General of China Mayaou and other officials.

According to MOU it is decided to start teaching of Chinese language as compulsory from class VI and above in all schools of Sindh within three years and students learning Chinese will gain extra marks, scholarships and foreign visit opportunities for education and skills training in China for those students who would pass Chinese subject till matriculation and higher classes.

Sindh the senior education minister speaking on the occasion said for teaching Chinese language teachers, students, scholars, administration and other staff would be trained on exchange basis. He said in order to implement the MoU Sindh Education Department Additional Secretary Rehan Balouch and the China Education department director would co-ordinate the development and management of the joint activities.
