Imran lets off fresh spell of tirade against Altaf
* PTI chief says just like every pharaoh, Altaf Hussain’s time has come too * People attend MQM rallies and listen to speeches quietly out of fear for their lives

MIRPUR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday launched a fresh spell of tirade against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, saying that his days were numbered now.

“Just like every pharaoh, Altaf Hussain’s time has come too,” he told a rally in Mirpur ahead of the by-election in the city

The PTI chief claimed that people attend MQM’s rallies and listen to Altaf’s speeches quietly out of fear for their lives. “They know if they didn’t submit to Altaf’s gestures, the sector in-charge will shoot them dead.”

Imran announced to hold next rally in Karachi to ‘defeat’ Altaf Hussain.

He said he has broken the ‘partnership’ between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said both the leaders have plunged Pakistan into numerous crises. Before Zardari took over in 2008, dollar was at Rs 60 while now it has crossed Rs 100, lamented Imran.

“Go Nawaz Go” is about to happen as soon as the judicial commission is formed, he said.

He urged the participants of the rally not to vote for parties whose leaders have their assets abroad. “Corrupt politicians store their money abroad in countries like Dubai,” Imran said.

“Recently, a girl was arrested because she was carrying $500,000 to Dubai. This is the 40th time someone from Pakistan has been caught carrying a huge sum of money abroad,” he said, referring to supermodel Ayyan’s recent arrest.

“It is now the time that we should set aside this fear and get ourselves liberated,” he called upon the people. He said it is the time to get the country free of menaces of corruption and terrorism. Imran said people in Pakistan join politics to plunder the national exchquer. He said that year 2015 will witness the general elections in Pakistan.

The PTI chief pledged that his government would introduce Switzerland-type local government system in Azad Kashmir after coming into power. “We will bring in a local government system that is being practiced in Switzerland and other Scandinavian countries. We are setting up the same system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said.

Criticizing the PML-N and PPP governments, he said that both the parties politicised the police department. He said his party would depoliticise Azad Kashmir police if got a chance to form government. “We will depoliticise the AJK police as we did in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

He said that his party will bring prosperity to the people of Mirpur, adding, “We won’t get our rights until we snatch them.”

He said that now decisions regarding AJK will be taken within the state instead of Islamabad.
