PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Thursday said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) did not believe in making false promises and was working with a commitment to bring about a real positive change in lives of people across the country.

Addressing a large gathering of the PML-N party workers here at Governor’s House, the prime minister said that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) who heard endless promises of a ‘New Pakistan’ were yet to see any change, despite the passage of almost two years.

The prime minister lauded enthusism of the party workers and said he had no doubt that the PML-N had a bright future in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and was a success story.

He said the party would recover its lost status as the people had full faith in the party.

He said he invited the party that got numeric superiority to form the government in the province after the 2013 general election.

He said PTI got only 172,000 votes more than his party’s 856,000 votes and hoped that the positive performance of his party would change the situation in next election.

He said there were other parties in province who also secured large number of votes and mentioned Maulana Fazalur Rehman who got a respectable number of votes and said he asked him to let those who secured more votes form their government.

Prime Minister mentioned the promises of those who vowed to make a new Pakistan.

“Now its almost two years since they are in power, but have you seen the new Pakistan yet?” he questioned as the workers raised slogans.

He recalled his two-time stint in power and mentioned the grand Lahore-Islamabad motorway and said in the days ahead the people of Pakistan would be using the new motorayway that would connect Peashawar to Karachi.

He said new road links would not only facilitate traffic flow, but also bring the people of all provinces closer, boost economy, trade and prosperity.

The prime minister also mentioned the number of large hydel dams that would be built in northern areas to store water and help meet power supply needs of the future.

He said expressways and motorways would link all important trade centres of the country and particularly pointed to the Hazara Expressway that was being built with a rapid pace.

The prime minister said the back of the terrorists had been broken, their network destroyed and the ongoing operation-Zarb-e-Azb going ahead with success.

He said it would continue till the elimination of the last terrorist.

He said all those who killed each other on sectarian grounds had no place in Pakistan and vowed that the law of land would take its due course and took such people to task.
