Politicians hit back at Imran for derogatory statements on PSL players

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s offensive and derogatory statement regarding the international players who participated in the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) Lahore final has been met with outrage by leaders of various political parties.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah remarked to media sources that, "Imran cannot conceal his pettiness and jealousy," adding that, "He should have contributed to the success of PSL."

Sanaullah dismissed Imran's comments, noting that they would harm no one but himself.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Faisal Sabzwari also condemned the statements, labelling his words as reminiscent of some who was an enemy of Pakistan.

"Imran's comments sounded racist," he said. "(The return of cricket) to Pakistan is a direct response to terrorists."

State Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb gave her opinion on the issue, saying, "The use of petty words were a reflection of Imran's mentality."

She added that if hosting the PSL final in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium was madness, then the nation would continue to respond to terrorism in that manner.
