Govt focused on self-reliance for defence production: Rana Tanveer
KAMRA: Defence Production Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain said that the government was putting the highest priority on self-reliance and indigenisation of defence production.
He was speaking at a ceremony held at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex at Kamra on Tuesday.
The Minister said efforts were being made to achieve greater autonomy in the two areas.
He lauded engineers and technicians for augmenting the country's engineering potential by successfully overhauling and repairing weapons system.
He thanked China for its continued support and assistance in the field of defence production. He said the bilateral relationship had matured into a strategic partnership with more opportunities for development and professional growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said substantial progress had been made towards achieving a greater degree of self-reliance in defence production.
He added that the future lay in the manufacturing of 5th generation aircrafts and the development of sophisticated radars.
