FIA to probe blasphemous contents on social media
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Saturday constituted a five-member team to investigate the issue of blasphemous content on different social media pages and websites.The team is headed by Director FIA Mazhar Kakakhel. The team contacted the Facebook administration which assured it of providing records and IP addresses of the pages spreading blasphemous and sacrilegious contents within a week.
It is to be mentioned here that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had ordered the formation of a joint investigation team to probe the issue of blasphemous content and to put those responsible on the Exit Control List (ECL).
Following the court orders, the interior minister chaired a high-level meeting and ordered the authorities to take action against those involved in this obnoxious act.
