Banquet hall reserved for PTI workers’ convention sealed

LAHORE: A marriage hall reserved for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers convention in Township has been sealed.

The local PTI leadership had reserved a marriage hall for PTI workers convention, where PTI central leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shafqat Mahmood along with other senior leader were scheduled to address the convention, however, it was sealed at the last moment.

PTI workers and supporters staged a demonstration outside the marriage hall, and accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of sealing the hall. The party leaders believed the workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) behind the mayhem.

Meanwhile, former Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that the doors of politics must be closed for corrupt people.

Addressing a delegation of workers here on Sunday, he said corruption was a heinous crime which could not be forgiven at any cost. He said that history would not forgive the corrupt people and they would be held accountable for their corruption.

“We are not against democracy, parliament and the constitution but against the corrupt people,” the former governor said, and alleged that the incumbent rulers were ruining the state institutions.

“The PTI has always tried to take onboard all political parties on the issue of corruption the eradication of which is essential to solve problems such as poverty, unemployment and terrorism”, he added.
