‘Sindh govt failed to provide amenities in drought-hit Thar’

SUKKUR: The chairman of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STPP) Dr Qadir Magsi lashed out at the Sindh government for alleged failure to provide the basic amenities of life in drought-hit Thar and asked the rulers to read the recent report of UN on Thar and act wisely before it became too late to save Thar from looming disaster.

Dr Magsi, while addressing a big gathering on the 31st death anniversary of party activist late Kamal Rahimoon and later, while talking to the local journalists on Thursday in Islamkot and Mithi, said that Thar had completely been neglected by the successive governments. The STPP chief deplored that on the one hand both federal and Sindh government were boasting to end the energy crises in the country by utilizing the desert coal and other natural resources, while on the other hand infants were dying of hunger and malnutrition. He alleged that the Sindh governmen had even failed to construct a single modern hospital in the vast desert.
