‘Will transform Islamabad into one of the most beautiful cities in the world’
Islamabad mayor says special attention will be given to health, education, provision of clean drinking water, sewerage, parking, encroachments, street lights etc
By: PPIISLAMABAD: Islamabad Mayor and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz has said that the capital city would be transformed into one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
While talking to Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders Patron Shahid Rasheed Butt, He said that Islamabad’s master plan will be restored and special attention will be given to the facilities like health, education, provision of clean drinking water, sewerage, parking, encroachments, street lights etc.
“All the owners of commercial buildings can now add one storey which will help them earn additional money and scarcity of office and residential space would be resolved to some extent,” he informed.
He said that four new hospitals are being constructed, while every sector will have a hospital in future. Capital hospital will be demolished to establish a state-of-the-art hospital at the same location.
“Parking plazas will be constructed in different location in the cities, while Blue Area will be given preference; where the parking problem has become serious,” he said, adding that new sectors will be established to address the issue of rising population.
To a question posed by Shahid Rasheed Butt, who is also honorary Consul General of Ghana, he said that Islamabad is in dire need of infrastructure expansion for which long-term planning is in process.
Planning for construction of 10th Avenue, under pass to connect sector F-7 with sector F-8 and under pass to connect sector G-7 and G-8 are in final stages and there will be no compromise on environmental protection and cost efficiency, he said.
