I’m now back to face charges: Sharjeel Memon

ISLAMABAD: Former information minister of Sindh Sharjeel Memon said that he was not absconding and returned to the country for facing the charges against him.

He was speaking here at a press conference on Sunday after his last night arrest and release in a case registered by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Memon said that “there were two laws in the country as the names of those, including Sharif Brothers, who were involved in mega scandals were not put on the ECL. Was the NAB formed just for the Pakistan People’s Party?”

The former Sindh minister said that he went away on doctors’ advice and with permission from the chief minister after he was not recovered in Karachi but his name was put on the ECL.

He said that the NAB and the FIA did not know that he was not in the country. He did not receive any notice but to put his name directly in the ECL was an extreme action against him.
