Islamabad to be among most beautiful cities in world: Mayor
Islamabad: The Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz, has said that the capital city would be made one of the most beautiful cities in the world.Islamabad’s Master Plan will be restored and special attention will be paid to facilities like health, education, provision of clean drinking water, sewerage, parking, encroachments, street lights, etc., he said.
Sheikh Anser Aziz said this during a meeting with Shahid Rasheed Butt, Patron of Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders Shahid Rasheed Butt.
All the owners of commercial buildings can now add one storey, which will help them earn additional money and scarcity of office and residential space would be resolved to some extent, he informed.
He said that four new hospitals are being constructed while every sector will have a hospital in future. The Capital Hospital will be demolished to establish a state-of-the-art hospital at the same location.
Parking plazas will be constructed at different locations in the cities while Blue Area will be given preference in it where the parking problem has become serious, he said, adding that new sectors will be established to address the issue of rising population. He said that Islamabad is in dire need of infrastructure expansion for which long-term planning is in process.
Planning for construction of 10th Avenue, underpass to connect sector F-7 with sector F-8 and underpass to connect sector G-7 and G-8 are in final stages and there will be no compromise on environmental protection and cost efficiency, he said.
The mayor said that early completion of the projects is also the base of planning process and that building plans of commercial buildings are also being approved without delay.
On the occasion, Shahid Rasheed Butt lauded the
resolve of the mayor and
said that credibility of CDA has been restored to a great extent. He said that business community has realised the sincerity of the efforts of CDA and a change in its policies therefore it has started investing in CDA related projects. Shahid Butt assured all out cooperation to the mayor on the part of the business community.
