Nawaz Sharif orders immediate reopening of Pak-Afghan border

ISLAMABAD: Premier Nawaz Sharif has instructed authorities to reopen the Pakistan-Afghan border immediately.

The PM stated that recent acts of terrorism had been traced back to Afghanistan but said that the long-term closure of the border would be against the cultural, historical and religious relationship between the countries and would affect the economy and the people.

He announced that the decision to re-open the border was taken as a sign of goodwill and that Afghanistan would assist Pakistan in its fight against militancy and terrorism.

Nawaz hoped that the Pakistan and Afghanistan do not severe their ties and work together to rid both the countries of the bad omen that is terrorism.
