India to seal border with Pakistan by 2018

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has announced on Saturday that India will seal border with Pakistan and Bangladesh by 2018 in bid to stop alleged infiltration of militants.

Singh addressed the passing out parade of Border Security Force and let out the plans of the centre. India has leveled allegations against Pakistan multiple times in the past for sponsoring terror; however the country failed to provide any evidence of their claim.

Indian news outlet quoted the Union Home Minister, “India is planning to seal the international boundaries with Pakistan and Bangladesh as soon as possible. This could be India’s major step against terrorism and the problem of refugees.”

India’s Border Security Force routinely violates the ceasefire treaty and opens unprovoked fire along the Line of Control, damaging schools and mosques and leaving locals injured.

Pakistan has raised the issue with United Nations and handed over dossier of Indian interference in Balochistan and other parts to Secretary General of UNO last year.

Tensions between the two states last escalated after an attack on Indian military in Baramulla District of held Kashmir valley in September 2016.

Brigade Headquarters of Indian military was attacked in Uri Town claiming lives of over 18 soldiers, prompting Rajnath Singh and Narendra Modi, Indian premier, to allege Pakistan of backing terrorists without initiating a probe or providing any evidence.
