Karachi operation has produced great results: PM Nawaz

PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressing grief over the loss of lives during the severe storm that lashed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said on Friday that it is extremely sad and unfortunate that this disaster took place.

Addressing a ceremony for distribution of aid to the affectees at Governor House in Peshawar today, the PM said that regrettably, the MET office could not predict such a severe storm.

He went on to say that sadly, the aid cannot compensate the loss of lives, adding that many women and children lost their lives too.

He prayed that the families deal with the loss with patience and said he would do whatever he can to support them.

The PM also informed the gathering regarding the situation of the IDPs returning to their homes in North Waziristan today, adding that the army went to the full extent to achieve the goals during Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

He also gave them good news regarding the Karachi operation and that target killing and extortion has nearly been completely eliminated.

He added that liveliness is coming back to the city of Karachi and went on to say that where ever there is no peace, progress will not be possible.

PM Nawaz further said that Chinese investment will bring advantages to all the provinces and areas of Pakistan.

He expressed grief over the loss of lives and damage in quake affected Nepal as well.
