Law to take its course over Mirza’s actions: CM Sindh

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Thursday said the law will take its own course over recent ‘unlawful’ actions taken by the disgruntled PPP leader and former home minister Sindh, Zulfiqar Mirza.

Speaking at a press conference after chairing a meeting of the Pakistan People’s Party’s Sindh council, he said Mirza’s affiliation with the party has already been revoked.

“The way he brandished Kalashnikov, forcefully shut shops and hurled threats at police officers … it all comes under the head of terrorism,” said the chief minister. “Therefore, the law will now take its own course,” he added.

Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani, on the occasion, said that the party leadership would be defended at all cost without breaking the law.

Other PPP leaders including Nisar Khuhro and Sharjeel Memon questioned Zulfiqar Mirza’s sudden revelations against the party, saying if he knew it all for the last 40 years then why his so called conscience didn’t wake up earlier.
