Naltar tragedy: Delegations from four countries arrive in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Following Natlar helicopter crash, the delegations from Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Norway have arrived in Islamabad to ascertain and transportation of mortal remains of the envoys to their home countries.

According to a statement issued by Foreign Office, the foreign delegations also held meeting with officials in FO.

The spokesman said forensic experts are also part of the delegations from Indonesia and Norway to help ascertain the bodies.


He added that the air ambulance will arrive soon to take injured ambassador of Holland back to his country. He will be transported tomorrow.


Seven persons, including Ambassador of Philippines Domingo D Lucenario Jr, Ambassador of Norway Leif Larsen, wives of the Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors and two Pakistan Army majors were killed in an MI-17 helicopter crash in Pakistan’s picturesque area of the Naltar Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday morning

The Indonesian ambassador was critically injured in the crash.
Two pilots were also amongst those killed as the Pakistan Army helicopter crashed on a school building in the Naltar Valley.

Those present in the crashed helicopter included the ambassador of Lebanon and his wife, high commissioner of Malaysia and his wife, ambassadors of Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Sweden, Philippines , Ambassador of Poland and his wife, and three crew members.
