NA speaker orders security for Dr Fehmida Mirza
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday directed the interior secretary and IGP Sindh to provide adequate security to former National Assembly speaker and MNA Dr Fehmida Mirza and her family. The speaker made these instructions in response to a letter addressed to him by Dr Fehmida Mirza. In a letter to the interior secretary and IGP Sindh, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq instructed them to make appropriate arrangements for providing security to Dr Fehmida and her family. He has also asked for submission of a report in this regard. He further said that as the custodian of the house “it is my responsibility to make necessary arrangements for the security of all members despite them belonging to any political party”. Earlier, in a letter addressed to Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Dr Fehmida said that she and her family were very much concerned for their security and being the custodian of the house “you are responsible to make sure the security of all members of the National Assembly”.
