No ban on new wind and solar energy projects: Asif
INPISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif while dispelling an impression of ban on new solar and wind energy projects in Pakistan, said that new projects were to be processed according to the new tariff to be notified by Nepra.
The minister was talking to Sindh Minister for Energy Syed Murad Ali Shah, who called on him here on Thursday. He said that optimal utilization of indigenous resources especially the renewable energy, is on top of the present government’s power generation policy.
He said that many projects were already underway while few have started their generation. He said that government welcomed investment in such projects and is committed to facilitate the investors. Matters relating to energy projects in Sindh also came under discussion during the meeting.
