Asif Zardari gets permanent exemption from appearance

RAWALPINDI: An accountability court exempted former president and co-chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari from appearing before court in a reference relating to his assets on account of security risks. The former president appeared before the court amid tight security and pleaded the court to exempt him, as he would not be able to come to court on a regular basis due to security reasons. The court, after hearing the arguments of Zardari, granted him exemption from appearing in court in a reference against him, and adjourned the hearing until June 2.
