Karachi, Sialkot ranked top with high workers abroad

ISLAMABAD – Karachi remained at top among all cities of Pakistan with a large number of workers 511492 proceeded to abroad for employments during the years 1981-2016.
Karachi was followed by Sialkot with 375757 workers proceeded to other countries for employment and then Rawalpindi with 345411 workers, Lahore 336274, Lower Dir 317220, Gujrat 313303, Gujranwala 291074, Swat 272508, Faisalabad 248879, Dera Ghazi Khan, 205645, according to official data.
According to the year wise break-up, a total of 2822 persons proceeded to different countries for employment from Karachi during the Year 2016, 6829 from Sialkot, 3499 from Rawalpindi, 5872 from Lahore, 6563 from Lower Dir, 3142 from Gujrat, 6328 from Gujranwala, 6617 from Swat, 5842 from Faisalabad, and 5090 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
While in the year 2015, a total of 69491 persons went abroad for employment from Karachi during the Year 2016, 33891 from Sialkot, 22328 from Rawalpindi, 30169 from Lahore, 26760 from Lower Dir, 19349 from Gujrat, 32655 from Gujranwala, 28485 from Swat, 31622 from Faisalabad, and 31744 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
A total of 54857 persons went abroad for employment from Karachi during the Year 2014, 27943 from Sialkot, 18322 from Rawalpindi, 26048 from Lahore, 14853 from Lower Dir, 16251 from Gujrat, 24826 from Gujranwala, 16289 from Swat, 23727 from Faisalabad, and 19362 from Dera Ghazi Khan, the source informed.
A total of 30247 persons went abroad for employment from Karachi during the Year 2013, 28433 from Sialkot, 14405 from Rawalpindi, 24614 from Lahore, 15400 from Lower Dir, 15327 from Gujrat, 25811 from Gujranwala, 15141 from Swat, 21810 from Faisalabad and 17987 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
In the year 2012, a total of 28392 persons went abroad for employment from Karachi, 30529 from Sialkot, 15615 from Rawalpindi, 23709 from Lahore, 25882 from Lower Dir, 18803 from Gujrat, 27703 from Gujranwala, 23941 from Swat, 21349 from Faisalabad, and 19471 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
A total of 29468 persons proceeded abroad for employment from Karachi in the year 2011, 24704 from Sialkot, 10379 from Rawalpindi, 16671 from Lahore, 20887 from Lower Dir, 13825 from Gujrat, 18361 from Gujranwala, 18173 from Swat, 13108 from Faisalabad, and 14115 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
In the year 2010, a total of 21882 persons proceeded abroad for employment from Karachi, 17877 from Sialkot, 8677 from Rawalpindi, 10944 from Lahore, 15827 from Lower Dir, 13774 from Gujrat, 14747 from Gujranwala, 13131 from Swat, 9231 from Faisalabad, and 11920 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
In the year 2009, a total of 20926 persons proceeded abroad for employment from Karachi, 19802 from Sialkot, 9707 from Rawalpindi, 12270 from Lahore, 17898 from Lower Dir, 12485 from Gujrat, 13533 from Gujranwala, 15409 from Swat, 10176 from Faisalabad, and 12497 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
In the year 2008, a total of 211 persons proceeded abroad for employment from Karachi, 5973 from Sialkot, 17450 from Rawalpindi,2896 from Lahore, 16937 from Lower Dir, 10110 from Gujrat, 5746 from Gujranwala, 10553 from Swat, 6577 from Faisalabad, and 4339 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
In the year 2007, a total of 14636 persons proceeded abroad for employment from Karachi, 12076 from Sialkot, 12373 from Rawalpindi, 8198 from Lahore, 8696 from Lower Dir, 11117 from Gujrat, 7719 from Gujranwala, 10481 from Swat, 6610 from Faisalabad, and 5835 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
In the year 2006, a total of 10718 persons proceeded abroad for employment from Karachi, 9328 from Sialkot, 11773 from Rawalpindi, 6078 from Lahore, 4087 from Lower Dir, 7787 from Gujrat, 5121 from Gujranwala, 5396 from Swat, 4127 from Faisalabad and 3344 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
During the years 1981-2005, a total of 227842 persons proceeded abroad for employment from Karachi, 158372 from Sialkot, 200883 from Rawalpindi, 168805 from Lahore, 143430 from Lower Dir, 171333 from Gujrat, 108524 from Gujranwala, 108928 from Swat, 94700 from Faisalabad and 59941 from Dera Ghazi Khan.
