PTI’s Qureshi wants indiscriminate accountability
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday said that opposition is moving forward with consensus over the issue of Panama Papers, a set of 11.5 million leaked documents with information of more than 214,000 offshore companies.
Qureshi said that the opposition was signing on the conditions on which all the leaders expressed their consent. He said that political parties would altogether take the issue to its logical conclusion while legal team would monitor the law-related matters. He said that legal experts would submit their report over Terms of References (ToRs) designated for commission made to probe the foreign documents.
He said that the opposition leaders were seeking indiscriminate accountability over corruption charges. He also urged to start the probe from today. On the other hand, a committee formed by the opposition parties would convene a meeting to finalise joint TORs against the government over the Panama issue.
The parties are going to meet for the second time in two consecutive days.The committee that was formed by the parties comprises of Aitzaz Ahsan, Hamid Khan, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Asadullah Bhutto, Aneesa Zaib, Sheikh Rasheed, Mian Iftikhar, Mir Israrullah Zehri and Khalid Maqbool.
