‘Joint opposition ToRs contrary to law, constitution’

ISLAMABAD: The government and its allies have expressed concerned over the joint opposition terms of references (ToRs) for Panama leaks inquiry commission, saying the rules framed by the opposition were contrary to the law and constitution.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday presided the meeting of coalition parties which was attended by JIU-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Hasil Bazenjo, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Akram Durrani, Ejazul Haq, Professor Sajid Mir and ministers Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Asif, Zahid Hamid and Pervaiz Rashid.

In the meeting, it was decided that a committee, comprises members from coalition parties, will be formed and opposition parties will be contacted soon on Panama leaks.

Later, speaking to media, Mauala Fazlur Rehman said they have apprised the government over their reservations, who have to make the final decision.

Criticizing the opposition, Fazl said he was surprised over the opposition, who was not accepting the formation of commission under the former judge, has agreed on retired bureaucrat.
