DG Rangers briefs CM Sindh on recent arrests

KARACHI: DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar on Saturday met the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and briefed him over recent arrests carried out by the paramilitary force in Karachi.

Major General Bilal briefed the chief minister about the arrests of RAW agents and militants belonging to Al Qaeda.

CM Sindh praised the paramilitary force’s efforts to curb terrorism.

Earlier today, police claimed to have arrested an Indian agent belonging to the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) during a search operation near the city’s Jamshed Quarter area.

The Indian spy was identified as Arshad.

According to sources, the suspect came to Pakistan in 2011 and has visited foreign countries approximately six times.

Police recovered three mobile phones, 10 SIM cards, an internet device, a laptop and classified documents from the suspects’ possession.

Arshad was shifted to an undisclosed place for further investigation.
