Chaos in PTI’s Peshawar rally after aerial fire

Model Annie ‘harassed’ soon after she enters rally ground

PESHAWAR – The police have opened aerial fired at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally which caused a lot of disorder and chaos at the venue, private TV channels reported.

No injuries have been reported so far. PTI Chairman Imran Khan arrived at the venue smiling and waving as the commotion settled. Another TV channel reported that local model Annie Khan has been ‘harassed’ by PTI ‘workers’ during the party’s rally.

Different private TV channels reported that Annie came to participate in the rally where she was surrounded by the workers. Talking to the local media, Annie said that she was attending the rally on her own desire, not on someone’s orders. She said that she can go anywhere to meet PTI chief Imran Khan.

Annie said that the party workers were misbehaving with her whereas the police was doing nothing except for watching whatever was going on. It is pertinent to mention here that a similar incident was reported during the PTI’s rally in Lahore where some unidentified persons forced their entry into the pavilion reserved for women activists.

The channels broadcasted the incident live when women participants started exchanging harsh words with men for entering their pavilion. On April 24 in Islamabad, some participants had broken protective walls and entered the women side and harassed them.

Last year, women were also harassed in Multan during a PTI meeting for by-election after Javed Hashmi resigned from his seat.
