Karachi: Rangers’ powers extended for another 77 days

ISLAMABAD – Ministry of Interior Affairs has extended powers of the paramilitary rangers in Karachi for another period of 77 days with effect from May 4, 2016.

According to the ministry, pursuant to request made by the Sindh Home Department on May 3, 2016 and in continuation of ministry's notification No9/1/95-R (Sindh) on February 3, 2016, the powers conferred upon the rangers in the Karachi Division are extended for another period of 77 days from May 4, 2016.

The powers are conferred upon the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) in the Karachi Division under clause (1) of sub section-3 of section-4 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 (XXVII of 1997).
