Indian court orders repatriation of Pakistani boy: Ansar Burney

KARACHI: Ansar Burney Trust International’s Chairman Ansar Burney on Friday announced that the local court in India has ordered repatriation of a four-year-old trafficked boy, Iftikhar Ahmed, back to Pakistan from India and in this regard the repatriation process has started and he will soon be back in Pakistan.

Burney thanked to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan’s High Commissioner in India Abdul Basit for their kind cooperation with Ansar Burney Trust and also efforts in this regard. Earlier, Burney requested the prime minister to ask the relevant departments to help Ansar Burney Trust in recovery of Iftikhar Ahmed and hand him over him to Pakistan High Commission at New Delhi.

Burney said that abductor Gulzar Ahmed, a non-niological father of Iftikhar on 12th March, 2016 kidnapped and trafficked Pakistani boy to India on Pakistani Passport, (Iftikhar Ahmed - Date of Birth - 28th December, 2011 Pakistani National - Passport No: MY1168781) where he was arrested along with Iftikhar by Ganderbal Police in Srinagar.

Burney also said that after arrest of Gulzar, Iftikhar also spent few nights in police lockup later instead of handing the boy’s custody to Pakistan High Commission at New Delhi as the Indian Police illegally and unlawfully handed him to the abductor without any justification.
