Enemies of Balochistan peace will be dealt with an iron hand: Zehri

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri said, “Our enemies were involved in hatching conspiracies and committing anti-peace acts in Balochistan in order to foil mega project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). However, they would not be allowed to implement their nefarious designs on our land”.

He was addressing a meeting of divisional commissioners which was called to review law and order situation across Balochistan. The meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattah, Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, IG Police Ahsan Mehboob, Home Secretary Dr Akbar Harifal and some officials of intelligence agencies. The chief minister said, “Our enemies are not tolerating CPEC. They have been conspiring and committing anti-peace acts to damage peace in the province”. The government and security forces, however, would not allow them to implement their nefarious designs on our land, he added.

He said that law and order situation has been improved during last five months owing to the commendable joint efforts of the government and security forces. He said that although some culprits were still trying to damage peace, they would be dealt with iron hands. Commenting on the issue of kidnapping of the son of Minister for Local Government Asad Tareen, he said that it was a test case for the government and he hoped for the safe recovery of the abductee within a week. “It is the responsibility of all law enforcement agencies to ensure safe and early recovery of Asad Tareen," he added.
