Govt to continue development despite mudslinging by opponents: Nawaz

LAYYAH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the government will soon overcome energy shortage once and for all and reduce the electricity rates. He said that the people claiming to make new Pakistan have worsened the situation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that the duty of opponents is just leveling allegations, speaking lies and mudslinging against the people. He said that the public gathering of Layyah is bigger than 10 gatherings of opponents. He said that the opponents have done nothing except levelling allegations.

Addressing a big public gathering in Layyah on Tuesday, he said that the power plants setup by the government are starting generation of electricity one after the other. Nawaz said that he has recently inaugurated Bhikki Power Plant and will now soon inaugurate the Haveli Bahadur Shah Power Plant.

He said that other power projects including Balloki, Qadirabad, Sahiwal, Port Qasim, Neelum Jhelum and Tarbela-IV are also in the pipeline and on completion would add ten thousand megawatts of electricity to the national grid by early next year.

He said that subsidized electricity is already being provided to farmers. He said that the foes of Pakistan do not want materialization of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), construction of motorways and roads, ending of load-shedding and provision of better health facilities to the people.

He said that motorways and highways are being constructed across the country to provide better communication facilities to people. He said that his government will continue its journey of development and progress despite mudslinging by political opponents.

Nawaz said that the strength of attendees in rallies held in Islamabad was next to nothing. “Their agenda is to lie, hurl accusations and name-calling”, he added. He said that the adversaries have never talked about development in the last four years. “Adversaries use abusive language every day. We don’t respond abuse with abuse”, Nawaz added.

He said that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) believes in serving people and is striving hard to curb load-shedding on permanent basis for which 10,000 megawatts of electricity will be added to the national grid by next year.

He said that our opponents have failed to serve in the provinces where they are in power. The people are supporting PML-N for general elections 2018 and that if anyone does not agree he should visit Layyah’s rally today, the premier said.

He announced health card programme for the people of Layyah that would purportedly give them access to free of cost medical treatment. He said that he never forgets his friends. PML-N is serving the nation with utmost sincerity, he said.

During his address, Nawaz said that PML-N does not respond to cuss words with cuss words but the organisation talks about development. He said that 100 jackals cannot harm a lion. The premier said that activists of the political party are close to his heart. He would be visiting Layyah once more before general elections 2018, he asserted.

He asserted in his address that a lawmaker who resorts to foul language could not be the leader of the people. He said that the government of PML-N is erecting universities and hospitals to develop areas.

Earlier, he laid the foundation stone of a bridge on Indus River to connect Layyah with Taunsa at a cost of seven billion rupees. The bridge will reduce distance of 180 kilometers to just 24 kilometers enabling people to reach Indus Highway from Layyah in 30 minutes.

Nawaz Sharif announced provision of gas to Chowk Azam, Karor Lal Esan and Fatehpur areas. He also announced provision of health cards in District Layyah to facilitate the poor patients.

Nawaz also announced construction of 50 kilometers long road from Chak No.128 to Somra Nasheb and remodeling of Thal Canal.
