Zardari confident PM to quit office within three months

BADIN: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down after Panama Leaks verdict.

Addressing a public gathering in Badin, the former president expressed confidence the premier will quit office within three months.

PPP Co-Chairman reminded the Prime Minister that Supreme Court judges have also asked him to step down in the Panama Papers case. “You (Nawaz Sharif) has to quit now,” he asserted.

Asif Zardari said he was aware PM Nawaz was awaiting Senate elections scheduled in March, however, he said that PPP will clinch Senate seats and take control of the Upper House of the Parliament.

Zardari went on to say Nawaz Sharif only cares about his relatives, adding that PM Nawaz does not understand the issues faced by the people of rural areas of the country.
